State Palace and Palace are located in one complex on Jalan Merdeka, Jakarta Pusat, are the two main buildings which covers about 6.8 hectares (1 hectare = 1 hektometer square = 10000 square meters) and located between North Road and Jalan Medan Merdeka Veterans, and surrounded by a number of buildings which are often used as a state activity. Two main building is the Merdeka Palace overlooking the Park National Monument (Monas) (Jalan Medan Merdeka North) and the State Palace that overlooks the River Ciliwung (Veterans Way). Parallel to the Presidential Palace is also Bina Graha. While in the west wing of the Presidential Palace and the Presidential Palace, there is Government House. At the beginning of this Palace complex in Jakarta, there is only one building, namely the State Palace. Building that was built in 1796 during the reign of Governor-General Pieter Gerardus van Overstraten and finished 1804 in the reign of Governor-General Johannes Siberg was originally a cottage outside the town of Dutch businessman, JA van Braam. Merdeka Palace

Merdeka Palace is the official place of residence and office of the President of  Indonesia, which lies  a complex with the State Palace  and Bina Graha. Its location  overlooking  the Park National Monument  (Monas), Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta. Palace with an area of  2,400  m² was built in the reign of  Governor-General JW van Lansberge of 1873 in the same plot with the Palace Rijswijk which began heaving. Originally named the Palace of  Gambir, Drossaers diarsiteki Palace which is at the beginning of  the reign of  the Republic of Indonesia  (RI), happened to witness  the signing of the history of the recognition of sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia (RIS) by the Dutch Government  on December 27, 1949.
